Frequently Asked Questions

Most people these days have experienced Chiropractic care. Whether you're knowledgeable or not, there are many kinds of Chiropractic and chiropractors, and it pays to be informed of philosophy, techniques and policy fundamentals for good decision making. We encourage questions as a part of taking full responsibility for your health and gaining a thorough understanding. If you have more specific questions that are not covered on this page, feel free to contact us by phone (267-9888), or by e-mail

How long should my first visit take? How long to adjustments take?

Plan on thirty to forty minutes for the initial visit to complete paperwork and have your spine evaluated thoroughly. After that, visits are usually less than 10 minutes in duration with less than five minutes (or no wait) for a table.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept all insurance. Insurance policies vary and not all cover Chiropractic care, but we can bill for you and accept assignment on your insurance claims.

Do I need x-rays taken?

It depends upon the particular problem the patient presents with. We listen to your full and complete history and finish a thorough physical evaluation before determining if yours is a Chiropractic case and if you would benefit from an xray analysis. If so, an x-ray tells what actually is happening inside, if there are any contraindications, and allows us to be more specific in delivering excellent care.

Can I see my x-ray results?

Yes. We show all our members the specific misalignments and degeneration that shows up on radiographic films. It's important to understand exactly what's causing the problem if you're going to get the best results.

Can Chiropractic help ___________ condition?

If an organ, area or bodily system is affected by pinched nerves (nerve interference), Chiropractic can help. However, Chiropractic is not a treatment of conditions: rather, Chiropractic improves the person with a "condition" by gently restoring normal position to misaligned vertebrae. Full nerve flow from the brain and spinal cord will allow the body to better heal and regenerate.

If I have...previous back surgeries, tumors, fractures, etc., is Chiropractic safe?

Yes. Chiropractic is statistically the safest form of health care possible in the United States . The medical profession injures and kills millions. Chiropractic is thousands of times safer than taking aspirin. Our doctors conduct thorough examinations to determine which Chiropractic techniques are most appropriate and most effective.

How long will it take to fix the problem?

We perform a detailed and thorough analysis of the problem to evaluate how long it's been there, how severe it is, and how much degeneration (damage build-up) is present. Along with physical factors unique to each individual, we can determine the approximate length of corrective care for your recommendation.

What technique does the doctor use?

Dr. Dilts has been trained in 22 different Chiropractic adjusting techniques that allow him to care for a wide variety of people from newborn infants to great grandpas. Our youngest member is 15 minutes old and the oldest member is 99 years young. Primary techniques include Diversified, Activator, CBP, Applied Kinesiology, Kale, HIO, ASBE, and Network.

Does it hurt?

Adjustments actually feel good as the primary intent is to relieve pressure from the nerves. We focus on being gentle and specific in our care. It feels as good as it is healthy. Most of our members notice a significant positive difference immediately, others soon after.

Once you have Chiropractic adjustments, do you have to keep going?

Of course not — especially in our office. Our office policy has always been founded on choice. Our practice members are offered symptom care, corrective care, or maintenance care for their particular problem. People choose for themselves and we always respect the decision they make.
